About Me.

I am Julian Levy, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for Regina City Council Ward 6. Fiscal responsibility and infrastructure management are the cornerstones of our community's prosperous and sustainable future. As a candidate, I am committed to ensuring that our government operates: efficiently, prioritizes the wise use of taxpayer dollars, and invests in the essential infrastructure that underpins our economic growth and quality of life. My campaign is built on the belief that responsible governance and robust infrastructure are not just goals but imperatives for the well-being of current and future generations.

Supporting community sports has always played an important role in my life. As a strong
supporter of youth community sports, I believe they are vital for fostering discipline, teamwork,
and a sense of community among young people. I'm committed to ensuring all children have
access to these opportunities, as they play a key role in building a healthier and more
connected society.

Fiscal Responsibility:

A Foundation for Trust

At the heart of my platform is a commitment to fiscal responsibility. This means ensuring that every dollar spent by our government is used effectively and with full accountability. Government budgets should be transparent, with clear justifications for expenditures and a focus on minimizing waste. My approach will include:

  1. Smart Spending: Not all spending is created equal. I will prioritize investments that deliver long-term benefits to our community such as infrastructure. This means avoiding frivolous or politically motivated expenditures that do not contribute to the overall well-being of our citizens.

  2. Debt Reduction: I recognize that government debt can be a useful tool when used responsibly, but it can also become a burden if left unchecked. My platform includes a commitment to reducing the overall debt load of our government through prudent fiscal management and a focus on paying down existing obligations.

  3. Transparency and Accountability: I will ensure that government spending is fully transparent, with regular audits and public reporting on how taxpayer dollars are being used. This will include making it easier for citizens to access information about government contracts, spending, and performance metrics.

Infrastructure Management:

Building for the Future

Infrastructure is the backbone of our economy and our daily lives. From roads and bridges to water systems and public transit, we rely on well-maintained infrastructure to move people, goods, and services efficiently and safely. However, much of our existing infrastructure is aging and in need of repair or replacement. My campaign is committed to a proactive approach to infrastructure management, which includes:

  1. Prioritizing Critical Infrastructure: I will focus on the most critical infrastructure needs first, such as ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation networks, water supply, and energy systems. This includes not only maintaining existing infrastructure but also investing in upgrades and new technologies that will meet the demands of the future.

  2. Sustainable Development: As we invest in infrastructure, we will do so with an eye toward sustainability. This means incorporating green technologies and practices into our infrastructure projects, such as renewable energy, energy-efficient buildings, and sustainable urban planning. By doing so, we can reduce our environmental impact while also creating jobs and economic opportunities.

  3. Long-Term Planning: Infrastructure projects are complex and require careful planning and coordination. We will develop long-term infrastructure plans that anticipate future needs and challenges, such as population growth. By planning, we can avoid the costly mistakes and delays that often plague infrastructure projects.

  4. Community Involvement: Infrastructure decisions should not be made in a vacuum. We will engage with communities to ensure that infrastructure projects reflect the needs and priorities of the people they serve. This includes seeking input from residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are designed and implemented in a way that benefits everyone.
